Civil Rights Bus Tour Day 5

Day 5... Hello! We started today in Montgomery, AL as we explored the Equal Justice Initiative’s Legacies Sites. Our first stop was at the National Monument for Peace and Justice (also known as the lynching memorial) where over 4,000 lynching victims are remembered. Our next stop was to the Legacy Museum, where we traveled through 400 years of Black history from enslavement to mass incarceration today. Finally, we visited the recently opened Freedom Monument Sculpture Park where we explored the lived experience of enslaved people through sculptures and other art.
