The Reverend Kathryn Z. Johnston
|The Reverend Kathryn Z. Johnston has been serving as Senior Pastor/Head of Staff at MPC since March 1, 2009. Originally from “down the Shore” (New Jersey), she graduated from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL. in 1992 and Princeton Theological Seminary in 2000. She previously served as solo pastor at Dickinson Presbyterian Church in Carlisle, PA and before seminary as a Youth Director in Winter Haven, FL and as Children and Youth Director in Clearwater, FL. Kathryn has a passion for proclaiming the Word of God and nurturing God’s beloved children in all stages of their faith. She loves the beach, sports, and laughing with her friends and her family.
The Reverend Myrtle E. McCall
The Reverend Myrtle E. McCall has been the Associate Pastor for Pastoral Care at MPC since September 2000. She is from West Middlesex, PA and is a graduate of Westminster College at New Wilmington and Yale Divinity School. Myrtle was ordained on December 11, 1983 and has served at Christ Presbyterian Church, PA, Greencastle Presbyterian Church, PA, St. James Presbyterian Church, PA, and Chester Presbyterian Church, NY. Myrtle also served as a chaplain for Presbyterian Homes, Inc. of PA for seven years before coming to MPC. Her family includes two older brothers, Emmanuel, a retired Baptist minister who resides in Atlanta, GA with his family, and Timothy, a retired Army Recruiter who lives in West Middlesex, PA with his wife.
The Reverend Mark A. Allio
|The Reverend Mark A. Allio is our Associate Pastor for Youth and Young Adults. He grew up in Clarion, PA and attended Clarion University. He followed a call in Youth Ministry by serving as Director of Youth and Families at First Presbyterian Church in Anchorage, AK for three years. He returned to Pennsylvania to attend Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and graduated in May 2011. His family includes his wife Carrie and sons Asher and Gage.
|Kathy Wells has been the Director of Christian Education and Mission at MPC since February, 1999. Prior to that, she served for ten years a the First Presbyterian Church of Wilkes-Barre, PA. She grew up on a small farm in Western Massachusetts (which explains her cow collection that takes up two entire cupboards in her house). Her first contact with Presbyterianism was at Maryville College in Maryville, TN. She is now a Certified Christian Educator and has a passion for mission and mission trips. Kathy is married to David Hoover. They each have two children, a total of five grandchildren, and way too many pets.
|Dan Dorty, Director of Music, came to us in August of 2014. He previously served as Director of Music and Organist at First United Presbyterian Church in Newville, Pennsylvania. A senior at Messiah College in Grantham, Pennsylvania, he is studying for a Bachelor of Arts degree in church music with a concentration in organ. He also maintains a private practice, teaching organ, piano, and voice in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, and frequently serves as an accompanist at Messiah College, in the surrounding community, and for the acclaimed Susquehanna Chorale. Dan is a member of the American Guild of Organists and the American Choral Directors Association.
Connie J. Sutton
|Connie J. Sutton is the Office Manager of MPC and began serving in 1976. She grew up in Mechanicsburg and graduated from Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School and Goldey Beacom Junior College at Wilmington, DE. She and her husband, Herb, have one son, Jeff, who resides in Los Angeles, CA. Connie’s joys include gardening, the outdoors and watching movies.
|Jennifer Arndt has been the Secretary at MPC since April, 2006. Originally from northeastern Pennsylvania, she is a graduate of King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, PA in 1998. Jennifer and her husband, John, married in August, 2000, and have two children, Ethan and Olivia. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family.
Don Hopper has been the church Treasurer since 1980. Don received a B.A. in Economics and Accounting from Westminster College, New Wilmington, PA. Don’s corporate career was with Verizon’s accounting and data processing department. After many transfers, he and his family settled in the Central PA area. He and his wife, Ginny, both enjoy traveling, their home, and meeting new people. They are also active in community organizations. Don and Ginny have two grown children, Jeff and Jodi.
|Randy Valvo has been the MPC Maintenance Supervisor since January of 2008. He and his wife, Beth, moved to the area from Connecticut in 2007. They have four children, all out of college, and two grandchildren. Prior to coming to MPC, Randy worked as the facility manager at a church in Cheshire, CT. Randy says, “It is a privilege to serve with the staff, Property and Maintenance Committee and the many caring people who serve here at MPC.”
